a)    Identify which small study / fellowship / discussion groups across our congregations are open to new members from any church and share information.

b)    Share information about discipleship courses taking place (e.g. Alpha, Pilgrim)

a)    Form a Social Justice group to implement the following:

b)    Create a local directory of groups and organisations that help the poor and disadvantaged. This could be useful to both those needing help and those wanting to offer help, money, food etc. Include emergency information about night shelters / emergency accommodation etc.

c)    Organise election hustings, enabling and encouraging adults and teenagers to question candidates on social justice issues.

a)    Establish and strengthen links with Wiltshire Youth for Christ.

b)    Invite local young Christians (11+) to get together to talk about possible new outreach activities. Then invite adult Christians to get together to hear what the young people said and consider ways in which we can support and enable them.

c)    Continue conversations with Wiltshire Council and other parties about the provision of detached youth work, and identify volunteers needed and available.

a)    Form an eco sub-group to support action.

b)    Share information about eco action (e.g. St. John’s recycling point)

Dependent on outcome of a), create ecumenical issue-led discussion group where Christians and non-Christians can explore some of the big questions of life.

Draft open letters to the MP on social justice issues and write a column in the local press (the drafts would presumably have to be sanctioned by all church councils/PCCs in some way before publication).

Have an overview of current activities available for children and young people (lists available from Sally Willcox and Beth Hutton) – identify gaps in provision and offer suggestions.

c)    Encourage and support congregations to carry out eco audits.

d)    Invite speakers to churches to explain the eco-congregation programme.

Contribute more to public festivals and gatherings, eg. Light Parade, Carnival, Hillworth Park events.

Identify unmet needs in b) (e.g. emergency accommodation) and explore ways that churches might be able to assist (working with community partners / agencies as appropriate).

Explore the possibility of taking Open the Book into additional schools.
