“Experience Easter” 2016
It’s not new. Easter of course is 2000 years old, but this child-friendly way of experiencing it hasn’t actually been around that long. St. James’ Church have shared the Experience with Southbroom Junior School several times in the last few years. This year St. Andrew’s Church, on behalf of Devizes Churches Together, offered the Experience to Wansdyke School.
The Easter Experience was available in St. Andrew’s Church for the week beginning 14th March. Wansdyke school brought classes along to the church where they split into groups of 6-8 pupils. Each small group spent time at each of the six scenes (or stations) from Holy Week that have been prepared beforehand. A member of the host team, using the script provided, led the children through a quiet reflection on that part of the Easter story.
